Sheesham wood ( Botanical Name Dalbergia Sissoo)

The Sheesham wood is the very popular tropical wood in North Indian region. Many of our chess pieces and chess board designs are made out of Natural Sheesham wood which is also known Sissoo wood in India. The Sheesham wood comes in brown light and dark color with black stripes on it. This wood is easily available in North India.

We are using Sheesham wood for manufacturing several of luxury Chess pieces and chess boards because the wood has straight grains and it is very smooth for turning or shaving on the machines. We do not process anything else except drying it.

The Sheesham wood is hardwood which has ability to carve even sharp edges very finely. The Sheesham wood is beautiful and easy to do any level of difficult craftsmanship on it. The wood becomes more rich and beautiful after the natural polish or lacquering.

The chess Empire is using only dead dry wood purchased directly from Government or Authentic dealers with all certificates. We choose only A Grade Wood material for all our chess products. We are not using any green trees or unauthorized woods. The Wood is a natural product which can crack or warp naturally.
